Alber Elbaz started the Lanvin show with some very plain, simple dresses and coats, practically void of his signatures details aside from a piece of jewelry or a trim. But then the show got on track, and although there was nothing new here, we love what Lanvin is about and therefore the show was a great success. Elbaz’s ability to create volume, curves and fantasy in his dresses is unrivaled. He sits between Dior and Balenciaga, embracing femininity but with an edge. God I love Lanvin.
